QUICK HITTERS (3/18)

- Today's main slate features 6 games. CHA & WAS are on a back to back.

- As of this writing, the game with the highest over/under is POR v NO at 240.5 points. The game with the lowest over/under is NY v ORL at 206.5 points.

 NEED TO KNOW

Russell Westbrook Out (?): It’s unclear whether Westbrook will rest tonight - there have been conflicting reports about him potentially resting tonight on the second night of a back to back. If he sits, I love Raul Neto ($3,800 DK and $3,500 FD), who would probably get the start in his absence.

Mike Conley Out: Without Conley in the lineup, I like whoever starts in his place; my guess would be Joe Ingles ($5,200 DK and $4,400 FD), who usually gets the start when they have a starter out. Besides Ingles, I like a lot of the Jazz guys due to the fact that they are playing Washington, who’s the worst defensive team in the NBA and the fastest paced team.

Capela, Okongwu Questionable: If these two both don’t play again, I would like Collins ($7,200 DK and $7,500 FD) a lot, especially against an OKC team that is bad against players that play like Collins. It’s also tough to look away from Nathan Knight ($3,500 DK and FD), who had 15-1-3 last game without Capela and Okongwu playing and is extremely cheap.

Bazley Out, Lu Dort, Maledon Questionable: Keep track of who starts in this game, because I would like a low priced guy like Ty Jerome or Kenrich Williams if they find themselves in the starting lineup somehow. But, I like SGA ($9,000 DK and $7,900 FD) regardless, as he’s in an UNBELIEVABLE matchup against an ATL team that is terrible at defending guards who attack the paint.

Rose, Rivers, Robinson Out, Payton Doubtful, Quickley Questionable: If all of these players sit, I would really like Alec Burks ($4,900 DK and $4,500 FD), who would likely get a lot more minutes and shot opportunities without these guys in the lineup. I also like both Randle ($10,000 DK and $9,200 FD) and Barrett ($6,400 DK and $5,900 FD), who are in incredible matchups against an ORL team that is terrible at guarding players with their player profiles.

Fournier, Gordon, Ross Questionable, Michael Carter-Williams Out: If none of these guys play, Vucevic ($10,100 DK and $10,000 FD) should have a fairly large role tonight; I don’t LOVE him though, because the Knicks are the best defensive team in the league and play at the slowest pace.

3/18 CORE PLAYS

This section aims to identify players we think are especially good plays in either CASH or GPP lineups. For our full 3 player cores for both cash & GPP, start your 1 week free trial of our AC Plus membership today!

Cash Core:

In CASH lineups, we’re looking for players who have a high floor (players who have a low chance at flopping). We’re also not very concerned about ownership in cash lineups. In fact, if a guy has super high ownership, it makes sense to have him in your lineup so that other users don’t gain a massive advantage over you if he plays well. Conversely, if the player plays poorly, it doesn’t hurt you too much because so many users have him in their lineups.

Jordan Clarkson ($6,100 DK & $5,200 FD)

I love Clarkson tonight because he feels game-script proof. What I mean by that is he should get his minutes regardless of whether or not this game is a blowout. I could easily see Utah running away with this one early, in which case Clarkson would get some additional burn with the second unit. Regardless, he should get his customary 15+ shots up against a Wizards team that plays at the fastest pace in the NBA.

GPP Core:

Contrary to CASH, we are looking for “diamond in the rough” plays in a GPP lineup. We want guys who have low ownership, and/or guys who have a high upside (a chance to pop off). Since you only make money if you place in the top ~20%, you need to have some guys in your lineup that return high value but that are not highly owned.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($9,000 DK & $7,900 FD)

Not sure what his ownership will end up looking like (dependent on whether Dort and Maledon play) but I’m all over SGA tonight. He had one of his worst fantasy performances of the season a few nights ago and now gets a Hawks team that has been TERRIBLE at defending players with SGA’s player profile this season. Especially if Dort and/or Maledon sit, I think SGA has 50+ fantasy point potential and is an absolute steal on FD.
