NEED TO KNOW

Garland Questionable, Love, Prince Out: If Garland were to sit, I would absolutely love Sexton ($7,100 DK and $7,300 FD) tonight; he would have a large increase in his usage, and he’s playing against a SAC team that lets up the second most points to opposing teams in the NBA. Also, SAC ranks third to last in the NBA at guarding SG’s.

Bazley, Dort, Horford Out: Without Dort in the lineup, I really like Mykhailliuk ($3,600 DK and $4,300 FD); he’s getting more and more minutes with this OKC team (15-3-4 in 21 minutes yesterday), and I expect those to continue to increase tonight without Dort. I also love his matchup against MIN, who’s the third fastest-paced team in the NBA and has the third worst defense.

Lamelo, Zeller Out, Rozier Questionable: Without Lamelo for likely the rest of the season, the Hornets will have to find other ways to score; I think Monk ($4,000 DK and $3,500) and Graham ($4,800 DK and $4,300 FD) both begin to have higher usages and roles in the offense. Both guys are underpriced tonight (ESPECIALLY Monk on FD) and have solid chances at returning value.

Kemba, Tristan Out: Without Kemba tonight, the guy who I think gains the most value is Marcus Smart ($5,600 DK and $5,000 FD). He probably gets the start in Kemba’s place, and he’s just starting to get comfortable after coming back from his injury.

Giannis, Kurucs Out: I like virtually all of the guys on the Bucks tonight. You have to look at Middleton ($7,600 DK and $7,000 FD) first and foremost; I think he takes the most shots on this team and takes over the primary playmaker role. I also like Portis ($4,100 DK and $3,700 FD), who’s dirt cheap and should easily return value with the number of minutes he should get.

Gordon, Nwaba, Oladipo Out, Porter Questionable, Augustin Probable: Without Oladipo and potentially Porter, I think you have to look at Wall ($7,100 DK and $7,800 FD); he should be the primary ball handler, facilitator, and scorer, and hopefully he takes some pride tonight in the fact that his team has lost 20 games in a row.

Gobert Questionable: Seems likely that Gobert would play tonight considering he played well on 35 minutes just a few nights ago, but if he somehow sits, I would like Favors ($3,500 DK and FD), who should easily return value with increased minutes and a likely start, not to mention a great matchup against a bad CHI defense.

3/22 CORE PLAYS

This section aims to identify players we think are especially good plays in either CASH or GPP lineups

CASH CORE:

In CASH lineups, we’re looking for players who have a high floor (players who have a low chance at flopping). We’re also not very concerned about ownership in cash lineups. In fact, if a guy has super high ownership, it makes sense to have him in your lineup so that other users don’t gain a massive advantage over you if he plays well. Conversely, if the player plays poorly, it doesn’t hurt you too much because so many users have him in their lineups.

Khris Middleton ($7,600 DK & $7,000 FD)

With Giannis out tonight, I love both Portis and Middleton. I’ll go Middleton because I do feel he has the safer floor tonight. You can expect Middleton to be one of the highest owned players on the slate… He is essentially a must in cash lineups tonight having put up 16 shots in both of his last 2 and in what should be a higher usage role tonight.

Moses Brown ($5,100 DK & $4,300 FD)

Brown is another really clear play tonight with Horford being ruled out for rest. He has double-doubled in both of the last 2 where Horford sat and is still way too cheap against a MIN team allowing the 4th most offensive rebounds per game.

Collin Sexton ($7,100 DK & $7,300FD)

My final cash core play tonight is Sexton. He has been brilliant in his last three, and now finds himself up against a SAC team that has decided defense is optional. The Kings rank 2nd worst in salary adjusted DvP to SGs, and give up the second most points per game in the entire NBA. Sexton is a no brainer for me in cash (and maybe even GPP) tonight.

GPP CORE:

Contrary to CASH, we are looking for “diamond in the rough” plays in a GPP lineup. We want guys who have low ownership, and/or guys who have a high upside (a chance to pop off). Since you only make money if you place in the top ~20%, you need to have some guys in your lineup that return high value but that are not highly owned.

Svi Mykhailiuk ($3,600 DK & $4,300 FD)

With Dort being ruled out tonight, I think Svi is a REALLY interesting look. He is getting more comfortable in an expanded role in OKC, and has seen his minutes ramp up in each of the last 2 games. I expect him to see 20-25 minutes tonight, and if he does, he has smash potential against a MIN team that plays at the third fastest pace in the NBA.

Domantas Sabonis ($9,000 DK & $9,100 FD)

With no Giannis, I absolutely love Sabonis tonight against the Bucks. I expect him to have a much easier time around the rim and think he is a bit underpriced compared to some of the other top tier options on the slate. We all know he has triple double (and thus 50-60 fantasy point) potential on any given night. I like his chances of producing tonight against a depleted Bucks team.
